Barbara Alloway arrived on California’s Central Coast by way of London, England, where her desire to paint first surfaced.  Upon moving to Santa Maria she took classes with renowned American painter, Robert Burridge, who, she says, “opened the door to the excitement and joy of creating something extraordinary.”

A love of color and experimentation infuses her work.  “I like to go on an adventure whenever I paint.  I love all mediums and all surfaces, but lately foil and metal have captured my interest because they allow me to play with color, form and texture in new ways, often with unexpected results.”

Her works have been shown in numerous exhibitions and are in collections in the US, Sweden, Ireland and England.
