About Barbara

Although I’m a native Californian, most of my life has been spent elsewhere. I first got “serious” about painting while living in England. In 1994 I moved to California’s Central Coast and was fortunate enough to study with Robert Burridge, who encouraged me to challenge myself and explore beyond my “comfort zone.

I love the adventure of painting, exploring different mediums and surfaces, looking for new ways of getting from here to there. Silk, foil and metal allow me to play with color, mood and texture in new ways, often with unexpected results.

There’s no way of knowing where I will go next and I can only hope you enjoy the journey as much as I do.
