Barbara Alloway is a California native who got ‘serious’ about painting while living in England. In 1994, she moved to California’s Central Coast and was fortunate enough to study with Robert Burridge, who inspired her to challenge herself and explore beyond the “comfort zone”.

Barbara likes to go on an adventure whenever she paints. She loves all mediums and surfaces, but lately foil and metal have captured her interest because they allow her to play with color, form and texture in new ways, often with unexpected results.
